JOI Co-founder & V.P. of Education and Programming Gary Cordell and Executive Director Donny Thompson were among several chosen by the Las Vegas Bowl planning committee to be recognized on the field as "Community Champions."
According to the Las Vegas Bowl Huddle team, "Community Champions are reflections of the Southern Nevada community and represent what makes Las Vegas great. They are diverse and represent all walks of life. They can be heroes in uniform or the more unsung, contributing to the betterment of our city in ways that are not as obvious. They are individuals who are passionate about serving our community and lead by example in extraordinary ways with a strong sense of purpose. Simply put, they represent the best of Las Vegas."
Gary and Donny are proud to have their efforts and Jazz Outreach Initiative recognized and were especially honored to have shared the experience of being honored along with others including Kitty Heck (Chinglish Wine Bar), Steve Weggeland (Liberty Lock and Security), Stacey Lorene Lockhart (Hopelink of Southern Nevada), Travis Turner (Shade Tree and Emergent Group), Tiger Todd (Hero School), Lydia Ansel, Sheryl Marvin Best, Don Miller (Hopelink of Southern Nevada), Angela Brooks (St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital - Nevada), and others.
Look for continued expansion and advancement of our Mission in 2022 and to everyone, we wish you a prosperous, healthy, and Happy New Year!
