Jazz Outreach Initiative is proud to announce the addition of Annie Savage to our staff as Development Director. Annie along with our Grant Writer, Michael Manley, will form a team under Executive Director, Donny Thompson with Annie focusing on connecting more deeply with current and fostering new supporters, planning and implementing fundraising campaigns, assisting with event planning, working with our JOI Jazz Alliance membership/volunteers, and much more, and Michael continuing his important work applying for and managing grants.

Annie Savage is a proud graduate of the Clark County School District (Clark Chargers! ’93) and holds a BA in Art with a minor in Art History from UNLV, where she also earned her Master's Degree in Public Administration. An arts advocate with a heart for community, she serves on the Executive Board of UNLV’s College of Fine Arts Alumni Association Chapter and on the Outreach & Fundraising Advisory Committee of the Southern Nevada Arts Coalition.
Annie teaches for UNLV’s College of Liberal Arts and volunteers as Gallery Coordinator at the Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery, where she also hosts and caters receptions. Known for her people skills and relationship-building instinct, she brings decades of experience in education, nonprofit strategy, and fundraising.
As Development Director, Annie is proud to support Jazz Outreach Initiative’s mission to "connect the language of music to the language of life through education, outreach, and performances". She’s excited to help strengthen JOI’s funding base, deepen community connections, and build momentum for current and future jazz enthusiasts, musicians, and educators.
Annie is a mother of five and grandmother of three. With full faith in the power of caffeine—and a life steeped in arts and education—Annie recharges by thrifting, solving puzzles, and joyfully watching her dogs, Mr. Jones and Sylvia, frolic at the dog park.
You can expect to hear from Annie as she completes her onboarding and begins diving into our JOIful culture!
