JOI is proud to launch another exceptional opportunity for our local students to explore jazz together in a relaxed and supportive setting with a new partnership with our friends at Lucino's Pizza!
A regular hangout for lunch meetings and quick breaks between work at our nearby rehearsal space, Lucino's is well known for exceptional pizzas, cheesesteaks, salads, and more, all served with their signature Philadelphia Eagles fanfare!
Recently, JOI co-founder and VP of Education and Programming, Gary Cordell spoke to Lucino's Pizza owner Joe Scolaro about what they were planning to do with a corner of the restaurant. Joe noted they were looking for ways to utilize the space. Having discussed this concept internally for years, Gary suggested student jam sessions which could involve kids of all ages including middle school through college playing music together, learning from each other, and building important relationships that could last into their professional careers. Joe eagerly agreed and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring this opportunity to our local kids.
Best of all, they do NOT have to be a part of our JOI programs! Any student with an instrument who would like to come sit in will be warmly welcomed by our staff of in-house mentors and ensured a chance to sit in! Family members are welcome and encouraged to order some great food and drinks while they listen to the music!
The Jam Sessions will be every Saturday from 6-8pm beginning Sept. 6th! Tell a friend... and bring a friend!!
Lucino's Pizza is at 3055 E Tropicana between McLeod and Pecos. Phone is 725-205-2414 and website is www.lucinospizza.com
