Tickets on Sale for Essentially Ellington Regional Jazz Festival Concert
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2023 - 7PM - ARTEMUS W. HAM CONCERT HALL - UNLV
Jazz Outreach Initiative and UNLV School of Music, Division of Jazz & Commercial Music present the 4th Annual Las Vegas Regional Essentially Ellington Regional High School Jazz Band Festival! Licensed to JOI by Jazz at Lincoln Center, this is the largest and most prestigious of the nearly dozen regionals.
The final concert will feature the Essentially Ellington Sextet with world-renowned jazz artists Jeff Hamilton (drums), Rodney Whitaker (bass), Dave Loeb (piano), Camille Thurman-Green (saxophone), Curt Miller (trombone), and Kenny Rampton (trumpet). The award-winning UNLV Jazz Ensemble 1 will also perform under the direction of Dave Loeb and Nathan Tanouye, including featured select student soloists from some of the 17 participating high school big bands from across the southwest.
Your ticket to the Saturday concert may also be used to watch the high school bands as they perform in the Essentially Ellington regional festival on Friday, February 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with ticketed concert at 7pm.
