Band Director Academy 2026 (BDA) is a single-day professional development workshop for band directors. This year's educators include Kenny Rampton, Sherrie Maricle, Bijon Watson, Helen Sung, and Roxy Coss & Dave Hammond provided by Jazz at Lincoln Center.

About the event
Band Director Academy is licensed to Jazz Outreach Initiative by Jazz at Lincoln Center. A "mini" all-day workshop version of the week-long BDA in New York City. Curricula is pulled from Jazz at Lincoln Center's course catalog and taught locally on the campus of UNLV in the Beam Music Center. Jazz Band Directors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend sessions taught by world-renowned jazz educators, artists, and clinicians from Jazz at Lincoln Center as well as those hosted by Jazz Outreach Initiative. This year, we're pleased to have Kenny Rampton, Helen Sung, Bijon Watson, Sherrie Maricle, and Rozy Coss and Dave Hammond provided by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Lunch will be served.
Las Vegas BDA provides state credit for step and licensure as well as graduate level credit (1/2 cr) through NASA. Certificates provided on request.
